According to the Ministry of Health in Kazakhstan, as of August 14, 4,688,157 citizens have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the press office of the Ministry reported.
According to the statistics, 6,440,62 citizens have received the first dose of the vaccine. In terms of vaccination rates in a regional context, the population of Almaty is taking the lead in the event of republican significance. The city has administered the most vaccines overall.
Turkestan Region ranks second and Almaty Region ranks third in the vaccine rollout. West Kazakhstan, Atyrau and Mangistau Regions lag behind in the list of the Ministry of Health. 11,450 deaths have been registered in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the pandemic.
The executive agencies are strictly monitoring the epidemic situation in the country. A week and a half ago, the Chairman of the Government instructed that regional administrations, Ministry of Health and law enforcement agencies tighten control over compliance with sanitation regulations.
