Kazakhstan increases measures to fight pandemic

Fitness, shopping and entertainment centres, cinemas, concert halls, computer clubs and other facilities will be closed.

On July 12, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov convened a meeting of the Interagency Commission to Respond to Coronavirus. The participants considered the measures aimed at curbing the spread and preventing coronavirus infection, the press portal of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

The Deputy Prime Minister set the task to review and set a realistic vaccination schedule for small and medium-sized businesses, accelerate efforts to contact and conclude a vaccine supply contract with Pfizer and develop the classification and regulations on support and incentives for health workers.

Given the worsening epidemiological situation, the Interagency Commission imposed the restrictions on the regions classified as red zones. Intercity, intraregional and urban regular and irregular passenger services will be suspended in these regions, with the exception of the carriers involved in the Ashuq project.

The places where people gather in large numbers will be opened to a limited extent. Fitness, shopping and entertainment centres, cinemas, concert halls, computer clubs and other facilities will be closed, with the exception of those involved the Ashuq project.

The heads of government agencies and akimats were tasked to enhance awareness raising activities.
