Kazakhstan to cooperate closely with Swiss companies

The prospects for the implementation of innovative transport and logistics investment projects were discussed in Akorda.

On June 30, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received the representatives of Switzerland’s business circles. The top managers of a number of companies had arrived in Kazakhstan to meet with the President, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.

The leader of Kazakhstan held a meeting with President of the Board of Directors of Stadler Rail AG Peter Spuhler. The interlocutors discussed the prospects for the implementation of innovative transport and logistics investment projects, as well as the organisational issues of a regular meeting of the Kazakhstan-Switzerland business group.

CEO of Glencore International AG Ivan Glasenberg informed the President about the progress of the stage-by-stage development of Kazzinc LLP and the construction of a polymetallic ore processing plant at the Zhairem GOK. Commenting on the activities in this industrial vector, Tokayev highlighted the importance of using modern eco-friendly technologies.

The issues under discussion included cooperation in the healthcare sector.  the meeting with  Chairman of F. Hoffmann-La Roche Christoph Franz focused on the promising initiatives, including the project aimed at building research capacity  to study and analyse disease-related information, including the clinical features of COVID-19.
