As of June 27, the Republic of Tajikistan has reported 24 new cases of coronavirus. 23 new cases were reported earlier, the press office of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection reported.

According to the Ministry, a total of 13,439 citizens in the country have had a confirmed diagnosis since the pandemic began. 90 coronavirus deaths have been registered across the country.

Since January 11, 2021, no new cases of coronavirus have been recorded officially in the Republic. President Emomali Rahmon announced the victory over this disease in Tajikistan. On June 17, the Ministry of Health denied rumours of an outbreak of coronavirus infection. However, the Ministry testified to the contrary on June 21.

On June 24, the second phase of the vaccination campaign launched in Dushanbe. Local authorities have called on citizens who are 18 years of age and older to be vaccinated with CoronaVac.

Representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection attributed the new outbreak of the pandemic to the violation of self-isolation regime by citizens of Tajikistan who had returned from abroad. At the moment, no restrictions have been adopted in the country.
