Tokayev inspects work towards attracting investment from Germany

The government working group works jointly with the German partners on a regular basis to explore new promising areas of activity.

On June 9, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, who reported on the measures taken to attract investment from Germany and promote bilateral partnerships and joint projects in key sectors of the national economy, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the government working group had launched to intensify business contacts between Kazakhstan and Germany. The group members continue a business exchange with German partners in line with the main agenda focusing on developing promising areas of activity and projects of key interest.

Reporting on the consistent measures taken to develop the mechanical engineering sector, Sklyar said Kazakhstan had a network of more than 300 machine-building plants with 119,000 employees. He also noted that the Government was working towards enhancing the competitiveness of domestic manufacturers.

In conclusion, the President highlighted the importance of the on-going work and gave specific instructions.
